A list of delicious ways to support beloved St. Louis County restaurants with new restrictions starting tomorrow
With new regulations in St. Louis County beginning on Tuesday, November 17, restaurants will once again focus their business on carryout offerings. There are still many ways to help support your favorite local restaurants while keeping the community safe. From online ordering to unique kits that feed the whole family, see below for a list of our clients’ offerings as they continue to pivot during these uncertain times.
Café la Vie at Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton (7730 Bonhomme Ave, St. Louis, MO 63105): Café la Vie is the new bar and restaurant located inside of the new Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton hotel, which opened just over a month ago on October 1. Café la Vie offers dishes highlighting European classics with local St. Louis flavors. The restaurant will remain open for carryout service for breakfast as well as dinner. In the morning, the restaurant will operate as a grab-and-go breakfast café for the next four weeks, complete with an Illy Gourmet Coffee Bar run by a master barista from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Evening hours will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m with a limited menu of food and beverage, including alcohol, available for carry-out. Café la Vie will also offer a Thanksgiving meal to-go. Order by Monday, November 23, and you'll receive three pounds of roasted turkey, roasted garlic pomme puree, croissant-chestnut stuffing, cranberry sauce, roasted brussels sprouts, poultry gravy, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie. Lion’s Choice: Lion’s Choice, the St. Louis-based family of restaurants known for their famous roast beef sandwiches, crave-worthy fries and frozen custard, will close their recently opened dining rooms. The restaurant will continue to offer bulk family meals and everyday favorites through all of their drive-thru locations. The iconic St. Louis restaurant is offering a limited-time only Family Meal Platter ($30) with one pound of roast beef or turkey, Texas Toast and pints of two sides including the choice of mashed potatoes, green beans, steamed broccoli or mac ‘n cheese to feed a family of four. Additionally, guests can stock up on the restaurant’s famous roast beef sandwiches with Pride Packs ($25), a branded, insulated bag filled with 10 Original Roast Beef Sandwiches. Mission Taco Joint Kirkwood (105 E. Jefferson Ave. Kirkwood, MO 63122; 314-666-5757): With the new St. Louis Country restrictions, Mission Taco Joint’s Kirkwood location will be closed for indoor dining. Guests can support the Kirkwood location by online orders for carryout and curbside pick-up. The entire Mission Taco Joint menu is available to order including carry-out margaritas, palomas and more. Try the take-out only options like the Sheet Pan Nachos and Taco Party Kit for Families. This month, the Taco Party Kit, which feeds a family of four, benefits the Foster and Adoption Coalition in honor of November being National Adoption Month. For each Taco Party Kit, a portion of proceeds will be donated back to the charity through the end of the month. Mission Taco Joint will also be adding additional curbside pick-up spots in the restaurant’s parking lot. The team will also utilize this time to cross-train managers from other locations in the Kirkwood kitchen. Mission Taco Joint’s Kirkwood hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. Mission Taco Joint’s other locations will remain open for limited dine-in seating, carryout and curbside.
Russell’s Fenton (952 Brookwood Center, Fenton, MO 63026; 636-343-8900): While closed for indoor dining, Russell’s Cafe & Bakery will remain open for carryout pick-up as well as special orders from the bakery. Russell’s also offers a Thanksgiving to-go menu here of turkey, sides and desserts from pies, cake, gooey butter and more. Turkey orders must be placed by Thursday, November 19, and all other Thanksgiving orders must be placed by Sunday, November 22. Russell’s planned to open an expanded dining room space this week in the space next door, but those plans will be put on hold until the restrictions are lifted. Russell’s on Macklind will remain open for limited dine-in seating, outdoor seating and carryout.
Schlafly Bottleworks: Schlafly Beer, the original, independent craft brewery in St. Louis, offers curbside pickup for their beer, brewpub bites and meal bundles at all three brewpub locations. With the recent restrictions, Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Ave, Maplewood, MO 63143) will no longer offer in-restaurant dining, but will offer its brewpub menu to-go with popular appetizers such as the Bottleworks Beer Bread and Pretzel Sticks to entrees like the Bottleworks Burger, Grilled Salmon and Fajitas. Schlafly Bottleworks has a plethora of seasonal beers, sampler packs and brewpub favorites to compliment curbside meals such as seasonal Coffee Stout, fan-favorite Schlafly IPA, the new Stout Bout sampler pack and more. For guests in search of meals to feed the whole family, Schlafly is offering a special Family Thanksgiving Dinner Bundle ($65) which includes an 8-10-pound turkey breast, family-sized green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy and a 12-pack box of Schlafly’s Patio Pack beer sampler. The bundle is available for pre-order until Friday, November 16 for pickup on Sunday, November 22 through Wednesday, November 25.
